Three generations, one vision–a family tradition since 1956
Today, the office is run by the third generation by Dipl.-Kfm. Christoph Zürner, Wirtschaftsprüfer (auditor) and Steuerberater (tax consultant) together with his partner Dipl.-Kfm. Sven Aurich, Wirtschaftsprüfer (auditor), CPA and Steuerberater (tax consultant). What has unified the two partners since the official transfer to Zürner & Collegen PartGmbB Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, Steuerberatungsgesellschaft in 2016, is far more than just professional excellence: It is the combination of family tradition with modern partnership, rooted in the history of a family that has dedicated its life’s work to tax consulting and auditing for over six decades.
The path to the future: Carefully prepared
The foundation of this continuity was laid back in October 2008, when Christoph Zürner joined his father’s office. This deliberate step marked the beginning of a carefully planned generational change. With the employment of Sven Aurich in May 2014, the handover was strategically expanded: The Zürner family understood how to combine tradition and innovation by deliberately bringing a partner from outside the family on board. This partnership combines the best of both worlds: the values and trust of a family tradition with the dynamism and professionalism of a modern partnership.
The second generation: Growth with vision
The foundation for this successful transition was laid by Christoph’s father, Dipl.-Kfm. Christian Zürner, Wirtschaftsprüfer (auditor) and Steuerberater (tax consultant), who took over the office from his mother in 1978. Under his leadership, a remarkable transformation took place: Through strategic growth and the integration of several professionals, the small company became a high-performing medium-sized company.
His decision in the mid-1980s to specialise the office in serving Italian clients with business activities in Germany was particularly decisive: A step that required not only professional expertise, but also intercultural competence and trust across national borders. At the same time, the activity in the field of the audit of financial statements was systematically built up and, from 1993 onwards, gradually transferred to Zürner & Collegen GmbH, Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft. Christian Zürner knew how to preserve his mother’s legacy while developing it further with his own vision at the same time.
The beginning: A pioneer lays the foundation
It all began in 1956 with a remarkable woman: Hertha Zürner as tax consultant founded her own tax consultancy office in Munich at a time when women still were the exception in the professional world. With professional competence and entrepreneurial courage, she not only laid the foundation for a successful company, but also for a family tradition that was passed on from her son Christian to her grandson Christoph, and is still alive today.
A promise across generations
What sets our office apart is our commitment to ensuring that clients can expect not only professional excellence, but also the reliability and personal dedication which can only come from a life’s work passed on from one generation to the next. Three generations of the Zürner family, from grandmother to father to son, have brought their professional passion to this office. Today, more than 65 years after its foundation, the Munich-based office represents both: Deep roots in the past and a clear vision for the future.
